Meatballs & Tomato Sauce STEP BY STEP

Join me in making my family’s famous meatballs and tomato sauce! (This video was previously LIVE on Instagram) This video is long but it is completely unedited so you can cook with me in real time! Here is the ingredient list you will need-

(Serves a family of 4 or 2 with leftovers)

Meatballs-

  • 1.5-2 lbs of aground Meat (equal parts beef, pork and veal)

  • 4-5 eggs

  • about 1/2 Cup Grated Locatelli Cheese (or Parmegiano Reggiano) 

  • Salt & Pepper

  • about 1/3 cup of chopped fresh flat leaf parsley 

  • 1 loaf of Italian Puglisi Bread or a rustic loaf that is bready yet airy inside

  • Vegetable (or canola) and extra Virgin olive oil for frying the meatballs 

Sauce-

  • 2-3 large cans of crushed San Marzano tomatoes 

  • 1 medium yellow onion

  • 3 cloves of fresh garlic

  • Salt & Pepper

  • 1 bunch Fresh basil 

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil (a few tablespoons)

  • White sugar (we may only use a dash. It’s added if the tomatoes taste too acidic)
